When it comes to action and adventure, HXH is among the greatest, if not the best, anime out there.

HXH’s enchantment remains as potent as ever, despite the company’s 20 years in the business.

If you’re looking for an anime that perfectly blends action, fantasy, and martial arts, look no further than Hunter X Hunter.

Gon Freecss, a young kid who acts as the series’ central protagonist, embarks on a journey around the world and valiantly overcomes several obstacles along the way.

Gon, just 12 years old, decides to find his absent father so that he may help him fulfill his lifelong ambition of becoming a hunter.

Gon doesn’t despise his father, but rather admires him, because he is a hunter, and hunters discover the various secrets and riches of the world.

Gon, ever inquisitive, decides to find out the hard way what it’s like to be a hunter.

Along the way, he meets Killua Zoldyck, Leorio Paladinight, and Kurapika Kurta, all of whom would go on to become his closest friends.

In the anime, we see how each character faces challenges on their path to realizing their goals and how they ultimately succeed by banding together to do so.

It was eventually transformed into an anime series by the Nippon TV network the following year, following the manga’s tremendous success.

Another anime adaptation of the manga, which is a more popular version, has been developed.

From October 2, 2011, to September 24, 2014, a newer version of Hunter X Hunter with more episodes than the original anime was broadcast on television.

The anime lasted for a total of 148 episodes before being put to a stop owing to a shortage of content.

Aside from the main series, Hunter world has a number of additional movies and OVAs to watch.

Order of Series: A Complete Guide

It is widely suggested that one should watch the 2011 version of the anime since it includes superior animation and two more arcs, which weren’t originally available for production as part of the original series due to a paucity of content.

However, many fans are of the view that the 1999 adaptation is better than the newer version as it does a considerably better job of integrating the first two arcs.

The original anime as a whole had a more serious take than the current version.

This leaves the decision between the two formats entirely up to the viewer.

Another approach that may be done is that one can watch the original version first and then start the newer version from episode 75, which will function as a continuation of the 1999 version.

If you are going for the Hunter x Hunter 1999, then you should first complete the main episodes and then watch the OVAs in the order;

  • This week on Hunter X Hunter: Spider
  • Hunter X Hunter: Greed Island
  • Final Chapter of Hunter X Hunter: Greed Island

You can watch HXH 2011 version as it is from the first arc to the last.

Additionally, there are two movies, Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rouge and Hunter x Hunter: The Last Mission, which can be watched after the series has concluded.

Hiatus and Comeback

HXH has taken extended breaks before without providing any notice of a return.

Togashi’s ongoing health issues are to blame for the lengthy absence.

Though the mangaka remains dedicated to the classic manga, updates on its continuance have been scarce.

Sure, we’d like to see the manga keep on, but we’re more concerned with the author’s health right now.

The thoughts and prayers of everyone here are with him.
