How To Watch Crisis on Infinite Earths? (Watch Order)

It could be argued that Crisis on Infinite Earths is the most monumental and consequential crossover in the history of the CW universe.

Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman are all participating in the sixth annual Arrowverse crossover.

The DC Comics serialization of the same name served as inspiration for this work. The events follow the pattern established in the first Crisis comic book.

As a result of the mega-crossover, Arrowverse fans are beginning to categorize episodes into pre-Crisis and post-Crisis time periods.

Although there is a recommended viewing order for the crossover episodes, I think you’ll enjoy my suggestion more.

For those unfamiliar with the Arrowverse or who have fallen behind on their viewing and want to get caught up in time for Crisis, the question of which episodes to watch in advance may arise. If that’s the case, you can count on me!

 Watch Order (canon)

In Episode 9 of Supergirl’s fifth season, Harbinger and Monitor recruit the world’s greatest superheroes to battle Anti-Monitor, who wants to destroy reality, marking the beginning of the crossover for regular audiences.

  • Supergirl – Season 5, Episode 9
  • Batwoman – Season 1, Episode 9
  • The Flash – Season 6, Episode 9
  • Arrow – Season 8, Episode 8
  • DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – Season 5, Episode 1

In some circles, the final episode of the mega-crossover is considered to be Episode 0 of Legends of Tomorrow Season 5.

Elseworlds, the Arrowverse crossover event of 2018, paved the way for Crisis on Infinite Earths. In it, a test for heroes of different realities by The Monitor came in the form of the Book of Destiny. Later in the season, The Monitor orchestrated Lex Luthor’s resurrection and the arrival of Malefic on Earth, both of which were depicted in Supergirl Episodes.

Then fast forward to Arrow making a bargain with The Monitor near Season 7’s ending. The season 5 finale of The Flash saw the date of Crisis on Infinite Earths suddenly change from the year 2024 to 2019!

The ninth episode of Black Lightning Season 3 also ties up to the crossover, though Jefferson’s world largely exists in the periphery of events.

About Arrowverse

The Arrowverse is an American media property and shared universe based on DC Comics’ heroic characters, with shows airing mostly on The CW and a web series on CW Seed.

In a manner reminiscent of the DC Comics DC Universe and DC Universe, seven live-action and two animated television programs have been developed to take place in a shared fictional multiverse through the use of crossovers between similar plot elements, locales, cast, and characters.

In addition to two web series, Vixen and Freedom Fighters: The Ray, the Arrowverse brand consists of seven television shows: Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, Batwoman, and Superman & Lois.
