The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4 Plot: What can it be About?

Reggie, Shy’s manager, surprises everyone at the end of Season 3 by firing Midge.

Midge is nervous about her Apollo Theatre debut because Shy has her listed as the opening act before the legendary Moms Mabley.

Midge is nervous about performing the act because of how the audience might react to a white comic, but Reggie convinces her to go ahead with it anyway. Reggie advises Midge to include jokes about Shy and the tour.

Unfortunately, Midge’s jokes that allude to Shy’s sexual identity infuriate Shy, only for him to drop Midge from the tour.

Midge and Susie try to make amends, but the plane leaves without them and they are left on the tarmac.

Season 4 kicks off with Midge’s job search following her Apollo Theatre debut.

Midge is at a fork in the road after seeing Shy’s generosity fly away from her, and the upcoming season will show her taking one path or the other.

Since Midge’s tour contract that Moishe used to secure the apartment’s purchase is now invalid, she will have a difficult time communicating with him.

Midge may find it difficult to deal with the new financial situation if she is accompanied by Susie, who is addicted to gambling.

Abe and Rose, who are now effectively homeless, will have to figure out their next steps in season 4.

Abe’s new job as a theatre critic will offer some relief for the couple.

It will be interesting to see how Midge deals with domestic concerns going forward now that Joel is busy with the new club and the kids.

When asked about the fourth season by Glamour, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino wasn’t particularly open.

She said, “We’re going to be telling the Maisel story slightly differently in the coming season, a little more open for us because we try to see a couple of seasons down the line… because everything affects everything, so we’re trying to figure that out now.”

Whatever challenges may arise in Season 4, you can count on Midge to take them on with her signature brand of wit, wisdom, and self-assurance. Turnarounds in her life will always be followed by her constructing new foundations upon which to continue her progress.

Fans of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” can rest assured that their favorite lovable snarky Midge will be back for another season to take on fresh challenges.
