Bruce Lee came up with the original idea for the exciting action-drama series “Warrior,” which was made by its creator Jonathan Tropper. The show is set in the late 1800s, during the very violent Tong Wars, which left San Francisco’s historic Chinatown covered in blood. The show is about the great martial artist Ah Sahm, who goes to San Francisco to find his sister but gets caught up in a fight between two gangs.
The critically acclaimed original show on Cinemax has had two seasons since it premiered in April 2019. Since the network stopped making the show, there was an air of uncertainty about it. Also, the last episode of season 2 must have left you wanting to know what happens next. So, let us tell you everything we know about a possible third season.
Warrior Season 3 Release Date
The second season of “Warrior” started on Cinemax on October 2, 2020. The season finale aired on December 4, 2020. The second season of the show has ten episodes, and each one lasts between 44 and 66 minutes. Seasons 1 and 2 came out on HBO Max in January 2021.
Let’s talk about how the third installment is going to be made. If you’ve heard the buzz, you already know that there will be a third season. Since Cinemax stopped making original shows, they had to cancel the show, but the fans were very upset. Over 68,000 people signed a petition for the much-anticipated third season, and the fans had the final say. On April 14, 2021, the show was finally given the go-ahead for a third season, and it was also announced that it would move to HBO Max.
We think filming for the third season is well underway because a designer who works on the show shared an angry post. The team spends a lot of time on post-production to create the right feeling of history, but we can expect season 3 of “Warrior” to come out in the first quarter of 2023.
Warrior Season 3 Cast: Who is in it?
The series depends on a huge cast, and almost all of the important actors are set to play the same roles in the third part. Andrew Koji will return as Ah Sahm, and Jason Tobin (Young Jun) and Dianne Doan will also be back (Mai Ling). “Big” Bill O’Hara will be played by Kieran Bew, and Dylan Leary, the leader of the Irish union, will be played again by Dean Jagger.
We will also see Joanna Vanderham, who plays Penelope Blake, the mayor’s wife, Langley Kirkwood, who plays Walter Franklin Buckley, the deputy mayor of San Francisco, Dustin Nguyen, who plays Zing, Céline Buckens, who plays Penelope’s sister Sophie Mercer, Miranda Raison, who plays Nellie Davenport, and Chen Tang, who plays the mayor’s son (Hong). Tom Weston-Jones may also play Richard Henry Lee again. There may be some new characters in the third season, but it looks like the people who work on the show are keeping quiet for now.
Warrior Season 3 Plot: What is it About?
In the last episode of the second season, Mai Ling goes to see Young Jun and tells him that she is Ah Sahm’s sister. In another change, Lee quits the police force, even though Bill tries to make up with him. Jun goes to talk to Ah Sahm because he wants to know if Sahm knows anything about Long Zii tong, Ah, Sahm finally beats Irishman Leary after a terrible fight. He also tells Leary not to go to Chinatown.
After Buckley put Penelope in a bad light, she is sent to a mental health center, where viewers will find more surprises. Later, Mai Ling seems to have the upper hand when she blackmails the Deputy Mayor into shutting down Hop Wei. Unexpectedly, Zing is planning to escape from prison.
Hopefully, the third season will pick up where the second season left off by answering some of the most obvious questions. With Deputy Mayor Buckley as her pawn, Mai Ling will have a lot of power when the third season starts. At first, Leary was a politician from the working class who posed a serious threat to Buckley. But after Ah Sahm put him down, Leary might find a reason to join forces with Buckley and fight against the tongs.
We hope that Sophie will put her differences with Penelope aside and try to get her out of the institution. Also, with Zing’s skills, he won’t have any trouble getting out of prison. Mai Ling might even be able to help him. The Hop Wei and the Long Zii are on the verge of going to war, but Mai Ling might be able to stop it if she can figure out what the mayor’s real plan is. Since there are still many different and interconnected story arcs to be told, the third season will be much more intellectual and chaotic.
