Victoria Rickman and William Carter started a turbulent relationship that came to an end on the 13th of September 2013. Victoria is a single mom and a marketing expert who met William through mutual acquaintances following a divorce that was contentious.

The time was when William himself was a single father and divorcee. Although things were going well when they were engaged for a time, however, their relationship deteriorated shortly after.

In the early hours of September 13, Victoria phoned 911 to tell them that William attempted to sexually assault her and she fired at the man in self-defense. The 30-year-old victim was naked on the floor and had multiple gunshot wounds inflicted by the.40-caliber firearm.

William was wounded in the chest, back, and arm, as well as on the head. There were also blunt-force wounds on his left arm and chin. Victoria’s rape examination in the hospital confirmed that there were no internal injuries. However, doctors noticed she suffered from bruises on her leg and arm.

The scene of the crime showed no evidence that there was forced entry or a fight. Additionally, neither William nor Victoria had any visible marks or marks on their bodies. If the police probed their relationship with each other, a troubling image emerged.

They had a background of physical and verbal abuse, in addition to false accusations of sexual assault. The incident was investigated by authorities after being contacted on multiple occasions to take action.

Within three days of that incident, William was in contact with 911, requesting to have Victoria exiled from his home. William’s father said the son of his Victoria had been involved in an argument a year earlier that resulted in Victoria striking William with the hammer.

Then she claimed that he had forced her to engage in sexual relations. But there were no charges brought since Victoria acknowledged having lied regarding the assault.

Additionally, messages sent to Victoria’s mobile showed that William was enraged at her during the period that preceded her death because she had visited the mother of their son. At the same moment, William also told Victoria that he was the love of his life. William also declared to Victoria that she was his one love, and he loved her the most.

At the trial of Victoria in August 2017, the prosecution claimed Victoria initially shot William at the rear when she walked towards the wall. She then continued to shoot at him, which ultimately led to his death.

They also had evidence from William Plunkett, a former roommate, who said that Victoria once threatened to accuse him of rape in a false manner. However, the defense claimed that Victoria was an innocent victim of domestic abuse and was able to defend herself by saying that William was shot first in the chest, and not in the back.

The sentence was life in prison without the possibility of parole, and he was sentenced to five additional years. Prison records show that Victoria is still in prison at Pulaski State Prison, located in Hawkinsville, Georgia.
