Nichol Kessinger was in the spotlight, but not a good one, after detectives discovered that the murdered suspect, Chris Watts, was having an affair with her.
Nichol was a part of the same place of work as Chris and was named as the principal motive for the Watts murders, even though she wasn’t involved in the murders. Who is Nichol Kessinger?
Nichol Kessinger was born and raised in Colorado in 1988. She graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Geophysics. Nichole earned her Associate in Science diploma at the Community College of Aurora.
Her relationship with Chris Watts came about in June of 2018, just a few months after she joined Tasman Geosciences. The company was contracted by Chris’s company, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, which led to the two having a meeting.
The couple embraced immediately and began a wild affair that eventually swept over Chris and the bond of their family. Although Nichol was aware of Chris’s wife and children, she believed that Chris was already divorced from her.
But she was proven to be mistaken and Chris killed his family members to have a relationship with him. After Nichol learned of Chris’s savage act, she retreated from the murderer she was found guilty of.
Nichol even contacted police when she suspected Chris of having been involved with the disappearance of his family. Throughout the entire investigation, she cooperated with the police agencies and gave them crucial details.
When Chris was found guilty, Nichol was placed in witness protection. According to the regulations, she was issued a new identification number and address. She was also required to quit her previous position at Tasman Geosciences.
Where Is Nichol Kessinger Now?
When Nichol entered guardianship for witnesses, her location and activities were kept secret. Furthermore, Nichol needed to change her identity because she had been attacked and criticized for her involvement in a relationship with Chris Watts.
However, in the year 2019, Chris Watts contacted his pen friend Cheryln Cadle and told her that he was in love with Nichol. He also stated that he received numerous letters from prison that he believed were written by Nichol under various names.
With this information, Cadle published her book “Letters from Christopher,” which covered Nichol and Chris’s alleged letters. With no tangible evidence to support Chris’s claims, the authorities were not sure whether Nichol herself was the one who wrote the letters.
In March 2021, David Carter, Chris’ fellow prisoner, revealed to the Daily Mail that Chris was receiving correspondence from Nichol with an unidentified name. David Carter added that Chris was the one who informed him of these letters in September of 2020.
He added that the authorities also found out about the letters, and then suspended Chris’s email account he used, as it was not his intention to have contact with Nichol.
If asked whether Nichol was able to speak with Chris, Carter said, “He told me she wanted to contact Chris in order to clarify some issues. He would not tell me what she had told him.
” Because of witness protection programs, Nichol Kessinger’s current whereabouts and whereabouts are still unknown. But, even if the letters turn out to be written by Nichol, it is unlikely that she’ll meet Chris in the future, as he’s currently being sentenced to five life terms along with another 48 years of illegal termination of pregnancy.
He received 36 years of prison time resulting from his convictions for altering the body of a deceased person.
